I am a retired teacher. After my wife died, I was really lost. Eventually, I relocated to the SF Bay Area to be closer to my 2 adult children and their families. Then the sadness and isolation started to slowly lift. This healing process has been going on for almost 2 years. Last week I realized that my grieving period was finally ending. I acknowledged to myself that I had been isolating and feeling sorry for myself. I was basically keeping myself from other people. Of course the COVID situation did not help. We were all instructed to isolate ourselves. Now my goals have changed. Not just to stay alive, but to actually be alive again. This is why I am filling out this form.
