Basic Information

First name
Robbie
I Would Describe Myself As
Hi, I am Robbie, and I am a Southern Gentleman or at least I try to fit the discription of one. Born and raised in the country, grew up a farm boy, and started breaking horses with my Dad at around 11 or 12. Broke my first horse for pay at 14, after I found out my Dad was getting paid, I asked for my cut. I continued to work with horses up until around 1985, I have competed professionally on saddle broncs, bareback broncs and Bulls. Right out of high school I went to Colorado and lived in a cabin up around 10,000 ft above sea level for 3 years without running water or electricity. And I worked for a stable that did weekend pack trips up to the great continental divide. After 3 years, I came back home to Florida and went to work on a 35,000 acre beef cattle farm. As close to being a Cowboy as you could get. Around 1977 I got into the racehorse industry. During breaking season I would get on 22 horses a day, training racehorses to be ridden, loaded into the starting gates, and have them fit to go to the track in 90 days or so. During those years I went from groom, barn foreman, exercise rider, and farm manager. And around 1987/88, one morning I rolled out of the bed onto the floor on all fours, and when I could finally stand and get myself downstairs to the kitchen, I looked at my wife at the time and I said that's it, going to town and get a city job. So I got away from the horses and got on with GE Aerospace, as an assembler and worked my way into what they called EH&S Environmental, Health & Safety. I was a plant safety officer and I managed all the hazardous waste as well as taught hazardous waste handler classes, as well as the new hire orientation for new employees. And after 34 years with GE I retired and living the retired lifestyle now. Yes Born and Raised Country, but I left home shortly after graduation and I am a product of the 60's and early 70's, and I have lived a good life. I know the country way of life but I know the city way of life just as well. I love music, all kinds of music, depending on the mood. I raced stock cars for a few years, that's in my family. My father raced and when I built my first race car we got closer than we had been in years. I always had longer hair and he hated that and the protest and the hippies of the 60's he hated it and I was all into my long hair and bell bottom hip huggers, and oh the music he hated ! But when I started racing stock cars all that other stuff wasn't so important to him anymore and he was my biggest fan. But yes when people ask what are my hobbies, what sports do I like, I usually say "Boxing, Bull Riding and NASCAR, anything else is just a game" and I also enjoyed riding my motorcycles that I had over the years. My wife and I had 7 kids, 3 girls and 4 boys, 15 grandkids and 3 coming on 4 great grandchildren. I have been a baseball coach, football coach, soccer coach, cheerleaders Dad, didn't do no cheering but they kept me busy. I have been a Cub Scout leader as well as a Boy Scout leader. The parents and the boys awarded me with a plaque authorizing me as the " official campfire story teller" and I have had different people over the years tell me that if I would put my life story in writing they would do whatever they could to help me get it published. Like I said earlier, I have lived a good life, hard knocks but a good life and if I were to leave this earth tomorrow, everyone can tell the others that Robbie told you that he had lived a good life and had a darn good time getting to where he is now. Thank You for tuffing that out to the end. My wife passed Sept. 15, 2022, and my daughters told me Mom would be mad if she knew I was just sitting around, that it's time to get back in the game. So here I am, I love people and enjoy going and doing things. Would like to find a pretty lady friend that I could wine and dine and see where it goes. And that is what I am looking for, a friend first.
