I am have been a widow for 5 years and am looking for a companion ....and possibly a mate with whom to spend my golden years. I think it would be wonderful to have someone to join me in pursuing our mutual "bucket lists" and other adventures together.
I am a pretty independent minded woman who has spent much of her life pursuing a career while caring for loved ones (husband, children, parents) and now is living alone for the first time -- I purchased a condo last year.
I love to laugh and being a social person, enjoy being with other people. I enjoy live entertainment especially musical plays, comedies and concerts (more easy listening i.e.Johnny Mathis, John Tesh) and classic rock rather than current performers. I am not a great fan of country music but will go to live country performances because I love the excitement of the events but they are not as much fun alone as they are with a companion (or a group of friends).
I have 2 grown children, 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. I hold my family close to my heart. My son lives within 15 miles of me, but my daughter (and 3 of my grandchildren) live in Richmond, VA so I make frequent trips (at least 1 each month) to visit her family. I was raised to believe that family is important so having a close relationship with my grandchildren is important to me.
I am very direct and that sometimes gets me in hot water, but I am also a very empathetic person and often cry along with someone who is hurting.
